Beloved Performer Pat Finn, Known For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at Age 60.

Stateside performer Pat Finn, who appeared in popular programs like "Friends", "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed aged 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles on Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, as reported by reports.

"He never met a stranger - only friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives said in a message.

They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".

A Prolific TV Career

His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.

He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.

He starred as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, depicting a party host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.

Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous well-known programs, like:

  • The King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • House

Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons over nearly a decade.

His cinematic roles are It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".

A Life in Improv

Outside of his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was a member of a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn guided, supported, and advised many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote publicly.

The actor is survived by his wife Donna, his children, and his family.
