President Trump Invites Relatives of Attacked Military Personnel to the White House

Former President Donald Trump revealed on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a Guard member fatally shot last week to visit the White House.

He mentioned that he spoke to her family and they were “devastated”.

Details on the Heartbreaking Event

US army specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a violent incident on Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in grave state.

Vigils across West Virginia have occurred in their honor.

Presidential Offer

The president explained he’s proposed a White House visit for the families of both soldiers of the state Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a tough thing, visit the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” Trump told the press. “And similarly with him, recover or not.”

Public Response

Attendees came together over the past few days at Webster County high school in the state to remember Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been serving with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s government program to assist policing efforts in Washington DC.

Remembering Sarah Beckstrom

“She was the kind of student that instructors desired. She behaved with inner fortitude, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that inspired those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the head of her former high school, told the Associated Press. “She was caring, caring and always ready to assist people.”

Funeral details for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Measures and Policy Revisions

Law enforcement have charged a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with one count of homicide and charges of violent assault while armed.

The event led the Trump administration to halt refugee claims and halt providing entry permits to owners of travel documents.

Status of the Airman

The airman, a resident of Martinsburg, enlisted in 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, according to the AP.

He continues to receive treatment and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia governor Patrick Morrisey mentioned on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general the attorney general told a news show that she planned to meet with Wolfe’s family.

Impact of Beckstrom

Sarah, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County high school in 2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a military police officer with honor, as stated by the state guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had fortitude,” the governor informed the audience at the vigil. “Though her life ended too soon, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
