The Renowned Musician Calls On Public Help to Get Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.
A campaign is aiming to send a cultural melody to the top of the UK charts. The campaign hopes to deliver assistance to Gaza's residents while also highlighting Palestinian cultural expression.
A Possibility for Unity and an "Unlikely Coup"
Composer and producer Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a moment to show solidarity with Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an surprise number one.
“It would be incredible if that occurred, yes,” he stated. “I’m not gonna be completely disappointed if it fails to, Christmas singles are a category of their own.”
Defiant Message of Freedom and Dignity
Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the adaptation of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's defiant core message.
“The song holds a profound significance for many individuals,” Barghouti explained. “The essence is that I would prefer a dignified death than spend my life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we seek to lead a dignified life that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”
Track's Background and Star-Studded Lineup
The single was laid down in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in late summer. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the piece was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.
The impressive roster of musicians contributing to Lullaby features a range of well-known figures from the scene. All were part of the earlier concert, which managed to collect a significant sum for humanitarian aid.
Final Touches and Availability
Lullaby was crafted by a group of producers and composers. The track blends a combination of the original Arabic with freshly written English words.
The team running the project have stated that their goal is to collect the highest amount for a specific fund. These donations will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an established charity.
“There is no a rigid aim,” a representative said. “We will pursue whatever we can get. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. Every penny goes out to the people of Gaza.”
The context in the region was noted for its profound destruction, with a huge proportion of buildings said to be levelled or seriously harmed.
“In that context, a few million doesn’t make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is primarily making this cause better known and proving there’s another side to the story.”
The song is scheduled for release at the end of the week. Additionally, a full recording of the charity concert will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from the 19th of December.
